After a year of youtube they sold it to google for 1.65 millions dollars. Youtube exploded popularly and millions of people were watching videos but youtube itself wasn't making much money. They sold it to google because they had the perfect power tools that youtube needed such as, a very powerful data center to handle the video traffic, strong advertisement, and legal terms to deal with any copyright issues. One of the mind blown facts about youtube is that every minute, users can upload more than 500 hours of content. This massive influx is managed by Google's highly efficient cloud based infrastructure. The google platforms ensure that the videos are stored, processed, and made accessible to users almost instantly. One of the many cool facts about youtube is its recommendation list, after you watch a short video that online or someone you are subscribed to it will recommend another content creator or another video that it may think you have an interest in. It helps you figure out what types of people or videos you enjoy watching. Youtube now is also leading the way with their new video technology. It supports 4K resolution, 360 degree videos, and even virtual reality content, meaning you can look around inside a video and make it feel like you are there in person whether you are in a travel video, video game, or concert. Youtube also automatically adds subtitles to videos using voice recognition. That helps if you're watching a video in another language, or if you're hard of hearing you still understand what's going on.The subtitles aren't perfect but they are getting there and technology is advancing by the minute. Youtube is not just a place to kill time, It's a giant high-tech platform filled with creativity, innovation, and possibilities.
